About Us
For the past two decades P.H. B.Cem Canturk and his German Pioneer Hunter friend
Hans Pieper have been roaming Cameroon's gallery forest and the savannah regions
in pursuit of self guided safaris, on foot.
During this era both hunters inevitably fell in love with the landscape, fauna and
the natives of the area. Eventually Mr.Canturk obtained three zones from the Forest
Department of Cameroon, one in the savannah region, one in a gallery forest and
one zone in the rain forest region. Eventually in 2004 he founded MBAM &
KIM SAFARIS on these zones.
The Savannah hunting zone, on average is 800m from sea level, with challenging
peaks touching 1600m.
Possessing a spectacular habitat The gallery Forest hunting zone averaging
850m of altitude is also where Mr. Canturk has began his safari hunting career.
Located in the Congo Basin which is the wettest spot in Africa, the "Self explanatory"
Rain Forest hunting zone embraces giant trees, a unique plant life and
an African rain forest specific fauna.
The name of the company is derived from the two major rivers of the Atlantic basin,
"MBAM & KIM" which rise in southwest Cameroon and empty into the Atlantic
Ocean.
